Caboto Soccer Club
Special Awards | Teams | 2026

In 1951, a group of men got together to form a team so they could play a game they grew up with and loved.
From those humble beginnings the Caboto Soccer Club was born.
Now, the club boasts over 35 teams for men, women, boys and girls and it stands as the oldest active representative in the Essex County Soccer Association.
Caboto Soccer is marking its 75th anniversary and part of the celebration includes being honoured by the Windsor-Essex County Sports Hall of Fame as its team of the year for 2026.
The club originally offered senior men’s soccer through the ‘50s and ‘60s but grew to add youth teams and senior women’s in the years that followed.
A storied history includes four Ontario Cup champions in senior men’s in ’61, ’90, U21 women in ’05 and senior women in ’11. The club also won an Ontario Cup District title with the U16 girls in ’21.
In addition, the Caboto Specials won the Ontario Special Olympics in ’04, ’05 and ’10.
The club was recognized for its contributions to recreational and competitive soccer with an Ontario Soccer Silver Standard Award for excellence and in the fall of 2026, Ontario Soccer also gave Caboto Soccer its Club Recognition Award while long-time president Egidio Mosca was honored with a Meritorious Award for his contributions and dedication to the game.
