JOHN
KASCHAK
BUILDER
BASEBALL
CLASS OF 2021
John Kaschak was a mainstay and vital member of the Windsor Central Little League organization for more than five decades.
Through out the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and 2000s he served as President for 10+ years, Vice-President, Director, Equipment Manager, Safety Officer, Public Relations Officer and Coordinator.
Managing and coaching his young troops, however, is where Kaschak excelled. He managed the Windsor Central League Senior Team (ages 14-15) to two provincial championships. National glory was also achieved by Kaschak’s club in 1972. That was the year he skippered his team to the Canadian Little League Senior Baseball Championship in Thunder Bay. At that tournament his squad went undefeated in 5 games, defeating Moose Jaw in the Finals. Windsor Central went on to represent Canada at the World Series in Gary, Indiana.
In his honour, the John Kaschak Friendship Minor/Major Tournament was created by Windsor Little League, a now popular Ontario wide invitational tournament.
In 2003, the City of Windsor recognized John’s dedication, enthusiasm and exemplary sportsmanship over 38 years of service to Windsor Central Little League Baseball.
For his selflessness and outstanding leadership enriching the lives of countless young people in the community, John Kaschak deservedly takes his spot as Builder in the Windsor/Essex County Sports Hall of Fame.
