CLASS OF 2024

As the starting point guard, Miah Marie Langlois was the one directing traffic for the nationally-dominant Windsor Lancers women’s basketball team.


Not only did Langlois run a prolific offence, she anchored a suffocating defense on her way to winning four CIS national championships before graduating in 2013-14.


On a star-studded roster, Langlois found another gear at the CIS tournament, winning four consecutive Most Valuable Player honours at nationals. She was also named the CIS defensive player of the year for three straight years.


At her final CIS national, Langlois averaged 16.1 points and 5.1 assists per game.


A local talent out of Catholic Central Secondary School, Langlois was part of Canada’s senior women’s program from 2014 through 2019.


In 2015, she was a member of Canada’s first gold-medal winner at the Pan American Games. That same year, she helped the senior nationals win the FIBA Americas Cup where she dished out an incredible 37 assists for the tournament.  


She won another gold with Team Canada at the FIBA AmeriCup in 2017 and in between played in the 2016 Rio Olympics where Canada finished seventh.


Langlois found further success playing professionally one season in Sweden and four years in Russia before retiring in 2019.


She helped Northland Lulea win a championship and was named MVP and defensive player of the Sweden Federation League in 2014-15. Langlois averaged 27.9 minutes, 10.1 points, 4.5 rebounds and five assists per game for Northland Lulea.  She averaged 37.5 minutes, 16 points and 5.2 rebounds per game during her best season in Russia in 2015-16.


Langlois now joins a new team in the athletes’ category as part of the 2024 class of the Windsor/Essex Sports Hall of Fame.
