Christa Teno golfed on the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Tour in the 1980s and ’90s. She also found success as a career club professional and golf coach.

Teno was born on April 19, 1962 in Windsor.

A Tecumseh native and St. Anne High School product, Teno won five consecutive Essex-Kent Golf Championships before being crowned the 1978 Ontario Junior Champion.

After representing the province on several Canadian Championship teams, Teno accepted a scholarship to North Texas State University, where she achieved further success. Teno was named the school’s Female Athlete of the Year in 1985.

After graduation, Teno went on to play on the LPGA Tour from 1989 to ’91 and again in ’96. During her four years on the Tour, she competed in four Majors: the 1988 US Open, the ’99 LPGA Championship, and the ’89 and ’91 duMaurier Classics.

In 1992, Teno played on the Futures Golf Tour, reaching second on its money list. She later competed on the Gold Coast Tour, finishing the season as Champion in 1994 and ’95 and tallying 19 total top-10 finishes.

Teno is a Class A member of the LPGA Teaching Division and is involved in the LPGA’s education process as a national evaluator. In 1998, she captured the LPGA Teaching and Club Professional National Championship.

At the time of her induction, Teno was Head Coach of the Seminole State Community College Women’s Golf Team.
