CLASS OF 2023
Noel Trepanier had enough natural athletic talent to have her pick of sports to play at an elite level but, it was soccer that won her heart.
After an outstanding Canadian Interuniversity Sport career with the University of Ottawa Gee-Gees, Trepanier played for the Canadian Women’s National team and in a now defunct semi-professional league.
A fearless defender, Trepanier played eight games for Team Canada in 2001 and 2002. Reliable, smart and hard-working, she jumped easily to the semi-pro ranks for three seasons with the Ottawa Fury.
A walk-on to the Gee-Gees’ team in 1994, Trepanier became the CIS outstanding player of the year in 2000. She was a two-time CIS first-team All-Star, a four-time OUA first-team All-Star and UOttawa’s female athlete of the year in 2000.
During Trepanier’s career, the Gee-Gees won three OUA titles, a CIS title in 1996 and finished as CIS runner-up in 1997 and 2000.
In the summer, she played for clubs in Nepean and Ottawa that captured Ontario Cup championships in ’97, ’98, ’99 and 2000.
Success followed her into the masters’ division, winning two provincial titles with the Ottawa Royals and one with Cumberland United.
Trepanier excelled in high school soccer, basketball, volleyball, track, badminton and European handball for Ecole Secondaire L’Essor. She played travel basketball for the Windsor Valiants and made the provincial European handball team.
Trepanier played travel soccer for the Windsor FC Nationals, winning the first-ever title in the South West Ontario Women’s League in 1994.
She now takes her rightful place in the Windsor/Essex County Sports Hall of Fame.
