National Champion Team Recognition Award 2006
The Board of Directors recognized Assumption University of Windsor 1963 and the University of Windsor 1964, 1966, 1967, and 1969 Basketball Championship teams. The teams won 5 Canadian Intercollegiate Union Championships, (C.l.A.U.) in 7 years. They compiled a 52 won, 0 loss record in the Ontario Quebec Athletic Association Western Division, and a C.I.A.U. won/loss record of 10 and 0. Their overall record was:

Overflow crowds at home and away were entertained by an up tempo style of play. Head coach Bob Samaras introduced “Blitz Basketball”, which featured quick and high scoring, forced turnovers, a variety of full and half court presses, multiple defenses, and utilizing all players. Perhaps the teams being honored are the best in the long basketball tradition, at that institution. The players who received C.I.A.U., M.V.R or All Tournament Team Honours were:
